Item# 0153P Teresita Naranjo, Santa Clara.
Teresita is the daughter of Christine Naranjo and younger sister of Mary Cain, a celebrated family of potters. This piece is a redware pot with deep carvings of feathers extending down from the opening of the piece while the water serpent design appears around the mid to lower section of the body. The background that is visible is buff colored. This pot won First Prize (blue ribbon) at the 1992 Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.

Item# 0131P Gwen Tafoya, Santa Clara.
Gwen Tafoya is the daughter of Mary Agnes and Mosminio Tafoya, She is well known and highly respected for her sgraffito blackware with its deeply detailed engraving. This piece features a fancy, irregularly carved rim resembling flowers and stems. The body of the pot is covered with sgraffito flowers, leaves, and stems, by a process of reverse carving. A distinguishing feature is the large, red sgraffito butterfly which gas an open area carved out around it.
 
Size: 9.75" high by 10" wide.
