HOPI POTTERY

Item# 0037P Fannie Nampeyo, Hopi.
Nampeyo was the Tewa/Hopi potter credited with the revival of fifteenth century Sikyatki polychrome wares.  Her three daughters, Annie, Nellie, and Fannie (Deceased) were also
considered excellent potters.  This piece, circa 1950, shows the Hopi water (wave) design around the center of the piece.


Size: 4" high by 6" diameter.

As the daughter of Fannie Nampeyo, Tonita continues her family's traditions of fine pottery decorated in the characteristic migration pattern of opposing bird wings and hatchured reserves.
